THE Stone Cross Women's Institute met at Trinity Church Hall when final plans were made for the garden party and refreshments. Members were reminded if anyone else wishes to go on the outing on July 28, names must be in by the end of June.
Speaker was Jim Samuels who came in his Victorian gentleman's outfit and gave an account of his experiences on The Weakest Link TV show. He was thanked by Nad Stoker.
Social time was a famous faces quiz, won by Elly Doman. Mr Samuels judged the competition for a decorated walking stick, awarding Nad Stoker 10 points, Valerie Bedford nine, Val Stacey eight and Jeanette Hillyard seven.
At the next meeting on Thursday July 13 (7pm), the speaker will be Mrs M Freston on 'Memories Round a Kitchen Table'.
