The April meeting was opened by Nad Stoker who welcomed everyone including a new member and a visitor.

Speaker was Jonathan Shanklin whose subject was life in Antarctica and global warming.

Mr Shanklin judged the competition for a paperweight and points awarded were: 10, Nad Stoker; nine, Anne Wall; eight, Esme Bully; seven, the rest. Points in the recycled item competition were: 10, Gill Hall; nine, Linda Wilson; eight, Eileen Bradbury; and for a herbal remedy: 10, Val Stacey; nine, Nad Stoker; eight, Val Bedford; seve, Gill Hall.

A quize was held during social time. Refreshments were served by Doris Beckwith and Eileen Bradbury

At the next meeting, at Trinity hall on Thursday 10th May 10 (7pm) the speaker will be Anne Wall on ballet dress making.
