Police have joined forces with fire crew to highlight issues surrounding parking in the town centre and the problems that emergency services can face when trying to negotiate their way through inconsiderate and illegally parked vehicles.

“We have listened to the concerns from the public and local businesses regarding the parking within Wisbech and we have put together the following information for the public regarding traffic flow and parking restrictions,” a police spokesman said.

“Please ensure you are parked legally with full consideration for emergency services, elderly, disabled and all pedestrians.

“Any vehicles parked not in accordance with the rules of the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) will be liable to a fixed penalty notice.”
