Thousands of pounds worth of damage has been caused after a flash storm hit Fenland on Friday.
Emergency services were inundated with calls on July 27 after the bad weather brought down trees and telephone wires across the region.
The first call came into Cambridgeshire Constabulary at 6.06pm from Station Road, March, where branches and telephone wires had fallen into the road.
Crews cleared up the debris from the trees and BT were called out to deal with the telephone wires.
While the weather was causing damage throughout the town Andrew Freeman decided to shoot a video of his point of view from Costa Coffee in March.
The video shows the wind and rain plough though High Street. The video has since had more than 240,000 views and has been licensed by viral online magazine UNILAD.
The next call for Cambs cops came in at 6.14pm from Elm Road, March where a tree had fallen near the caller’s house and was causing an obstruction. Highways were called to move the tree.
Fenland Police were called out to Churchill Road, Wisbech where the road had flooded. Officers warned drivers “approach with care”.
Calls started to come in from West End in March where large trees were seen falling. One tree fell into the road and caused damage to parked cars.
Another call came in at 7.07pm from West End where a tree had brought down telephone wires and landed on two cars in the Conservative Club car park.
Fenland District Council were called out to cut down the rest of the tree that was blocking the nearby footpath.
Local man Paul Hicks went out with his camera after the storm and got some pictures of the destruction caused.
A tree had fallen at Mill View, March near Sainsbury’s blocking the road, footpath and exit to the supermarket. Highways were again called out to clear the tree.
Paul spotted a similar incident outside Iceland on High Street, March. The large tree had fallen onto the benches and partially blocked the footpath.
The storm also damaged people’s homes. Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue were called out to Elliot Road in March where the weather had caused damage to someone’s roof and water was coming in.
