HUNDREDS of parents and students came together to toast a year of sporting success at Neale-Wade Community College.
More than 200 students filled the March school’s main hall for the Physical Education Department’s Sports Awards on Wednesday.
They were joined by staff, governors, parents and community coaches to celebrate the achievements of Neale-Wade’s most talented sports stars.
Students were awarded ‘colours’ for commitment to sports such as football, rugby, cricket, rounders and netball.
The Team of the Year Award was presented to the 45 youngsters who demonstrated “excellent behaviour and sporting excellence” during a tour of Barcelona.
A host of individual sports awards were given out, including sportsmen and sportswomen of the year, sports leadership prizes and most improved performers.
The Chris Hill Award for Outstanding Sporting Contribution went to Jacob Brown, who gave a thank you speech via video as he was away on holiday.
