Crowds enjoyed music on a sunny afternoon in Whittlesey when the town council sponsored a free festival in the newly created community area of the Buttercross.
The day was organised for families to enjoy and to make the most of the community space.
Councillor David Mason said: “The weather was excellent and crowds of several hundred people turned out to enjoy a superb performance of the band, The Children of the Revolution supported by solo female vocalist Shannon Buckton.
“The afternoon’s entertainment combined with that of a similar event in July are designed to make excellent use of the town square following the relocation of the central bus station to Grosvenor Road earlier in the year and is to be followed by the Annual Whittlesey Festival on Sunday 6 September.”
The festival will see a host of music, stalls, a parade and children’s entertainment.
