Thomas Clarkson Academy Principal Clare Claxton rose to the ice bucket challenge and received a thorough soaking to raise money and awareness of motor neurone disease.

Mrs Claxton said: “I requested a ‘bucket and spade’ sized bucket since the rules do not stipulate the size of the bucket.

“I should have known better than to believe my staff would accede to this request! “We have all learnt a lot about motor neurone disease, raised a good deal of money and enjoyed the laughter.”

In turn, Mrs Claxton nominated Assistant Principal David Bliss and Progress Leader Gerwyn Williams who also got a super-sized soaking from their colleagues.
