Teachers and support staff from schools in March and Chatteris are praised at ceremony.

Eight members of staff from three schools in Cambridgeshire have been recognised for their personal development.
The group of teaching and support staff from Neale-Wade Academy in March, Kingsfield in Chatteris and Burrowmoor primary school in March were awarded certificates at a ceremony.
They are part of 25 staff from schools sponsored by the Active Learning Trust (ALT) who have all successfully completed the Trust’s key training programme, Leading Active Learning.
Gary Peile, chief executive of the ALT, said: “The Leading Active Learning Programme is a crucial part of the professional development programme across ALT schools.
“I am delighted that our staff have once again shown that their knowledge, experience and skills are enabling them to meet the programme’s high aspirations. Their work will directly impact on the work of pupils and students.”

Todd Woollard, Year 9 progress leader at Neale-Wade Academy, said: “Leading Active Learning gave me the opportunity to work with all members of staff in the school through delivery of student voice.
“It has also shown me that the Trust is interested in helping staff members progress their careers.”

Amanda Lakey, higher level teaching assistant at Burrowmoor, said: “I feel that the Leading Active Learning course has benefited the whole staff, and highlighted the importance of asking higher level questions.”
As part of the programme, staff undertake work-based activities which align with priorities in their school’s development plans.
The programme develops leadership qualities in staff as well as specific skills, such as ways to improve marking and feedback.
