MARCH Hereward School's Under-15 team enjoyed outstanding success in local school football in the 1962 season.
It was the school's best season since the Second World War and by April the team had already made certain of winning the Isle Secondary Schools' League by gaining maximum points in their 12 matches.
The team was going for the grand double after also qualifying for the final of the Isle Schools' Cup and were due to meet the winners of the March Grammar School and Upwell match in the final.
