A FENLAND county councillor has joined a county council review team looking at the future of street lighting throughout Cambridgeshire.
Councillor Ralph Butcher of Whittlesey is part of the committee which says a "significant part" of its review will be gauging the reaction of the public to any possible changes.
CO2 emissions of current and future street lighting policy, and the environmental impact of light pollution, are two issues under review.
"Dimming technology, remote lighting control, intelligent road studs, and LED street lighting have been have been identified as areas for further investigation to understand how appropriate they may be in Cambridgeshire," says an interim report .
