STAFF swapped their day jobs for pedal power when Tesco stores across the country joined forces to cycle the equivalent distance to the moon.
The March store was just one of the stores that held the two-day fund-raiser, with staff taking it in turns to cycle for between 15-30 minutes.
The fund-raiser was in aid of Cancer Research UK, Tesco’s charity of the year. Exercise bikes were borrowed from the George Campbell Leisure Centre, in March.
Staff also took it in turns to dress as a lion to attract customers’ support.
Rosemary Bartlett, of Tesco, said: “Our target was to raise 500 but we raised 1,014.39. Thank you to customers who supported us with donations.”
