A Whittlesey family have raised more than £1,000 for charity in memory of Stephen Laud.

The 65 year old painter and decorator and former keen local footballer, died after suffering chronic pulmonary obstructive disease, COPD.

During the funeral family and friends donated to charity and raised £1,030.25 for the Sue Ryder hospice.

His wife Annette said: “All the family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and support. I cannot express the thanks to Sue Ryder for all their support and care.”

He had three sons and three grandchildren and was a twin with sister Bev and was the only boy out of five siblings.
