ON behalf of Chatteris Rotary Club, I thank those customers of the Co-operative Store in Bridge Street who generously donated to the charity collection held on Christmas Eve adjacent to the exit doors.
The collection ran from 9.30am until 3.45pm, and in that period – despite the recession - the donations collected by Rotarians amounted to just over �788.
This sum will be applied to a variety of charities, many of them local to Chatteris, by the Rotary Club during 2011.
Once again, many thanks to the Co-op customers for their generosity.
