ANYONE buying a disused Fenland chapel and planning to turn it into a home will have to retain existing railings.
This condition has been applied to the former Murrow Fen Methodist Chapel where the railings along the southern boundary must be kept.
This, say Fenland planners, will ensure the building "retains the overall character and appearance of the former chapel".
Fenland District Council says other conditions will ensure its character remains.
The council's decision to allow the conversion follows the chapel's closure last year when 100 worshippers attended the final service.
The chapel was built in the 1920s but with a dwindling congregations and just three remaining full time members it was felt the time had come to close it.
