Villagers in Christchurch had a chance to see the shape of things to come on Saturday at a special community day.

About 80 families went along to the event celebrating community action and the vision Christchurch has for the future.

Visitors could sample Fenland food and there was face painting for the youngsters and other stalls manned by village organisations.

The parish plan was on view with concerns, comments and ideas being collected from residents.

Councillor Will Smith, chairman of the parish council, said: "It was a very worthwhile thing to do.

"We held one last year before the parish plan was finished and we altered it slightly after comments from people who came along. I was really pleased with how it went."

Our pictures show young Stephen Cobb getting crime prevention advice from PCSO Donna Thompson and Alison Sloan tempting Sarah Kent and Robert Cobb, with Adam Cobb, with some of her Fenland food.
