MEMBERS and guests of The March Society enjoyed an evening boat trip along the Old River Nene courtesy of Fox Narrowboats.

Jennifer Lawler, of The March Society, said: “The journey provided a different and very interesting perspective of March as seen from the river. Cameras were in constant action throughout the one-hour return trip.”

A film about travelling on the waterways through March and surrounding villages completed the evening.

Contributions were donated by the group to Sue Ryder Care as Fox is organising events to raise funds for the charity.

The March Society’s next event is the annual meeting on July 2. It is followed by a talk by Edna Stacey about Victor Canning, titled ‘It all began in March’.
