This was the aftermath of a freak gust of wind which injured a cyclist during Saturday’s storms.

At 3:48pm on Saturday late afternoon Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Monojit Choudhury and Paramedic Rob Riches) arrived in Yaxley, via the Magpas Rapid Response BMW. An industrial shed had been caught up in the sudden strong winds and rain. The shed then collided with a bus shelter - and the debris of both structures then collided with a cyclist who happened to be passing by.

The Magpas team assessed the patient (a man in his 40’s), who lost consciousness and suffered a head injury. The man was then taken to Peterborough City Hospital, in a stable condition, in a Land Ambulance.

As well as an EEAST Ambulance Crew, an EEAST Ambulance Rapid Response Paramedic, Cambridge Fire & Rescue and the Police were also present.
