Norfolk police are issuing a warning to members of the public about compromising themselves online following several complaints received about blackmail involving social media webcams.
Reports have been received by Norfolk police about men being contacted on social media websites by individuals asking them to expose themselves and commit lewd acts online.
The men have then been re-contacted by an unknown woman claiming to have recordings of the incidents, followed by distribution and blackmail threats, often for money in Euros.
Police would like to remind users of social networking sites to remain cautious about their behaviour online to avoid placing themselves in a compromising position.
