SO many councillors declared a conflict of interests during a planning debate at March Town Hall that they were unable to reach a decision. The application before town councillors was from March Conservative Club, which wants to use a house next door in Creek Road which they have just bought.Councillors John West, Jan French, Trevor Quince, Bernard and Sylvia Keane, Kit Owen and Patsy Brewin all declared prejudicial interests since they were club members and so ruled themselves ineligible to vote."In consequence, the meeting became non-quorate and no decision could be taken on this application," said a report to the council.Although the application is about to be decided by Fenland District Council, town councillors had, as in the case with all local planning matters, been asked for their views.
