The One Night Only Theatre Company, March and district's new adult amateur theatre group, has selected 'An Evening With Gary Lineker' by popular humorist and professional grumpy old man, Arthur Smith for its first production. It is 1990, England is playing Germany in the World Cup semi-final (the one where Gazza cries), and avid football supporter, Bill, is on holiday in Spain with his wife Monica. He desperately wants to watch the game on TV. She desperately wants to talk relationships.Joining them to watch the game in their holiday apartment is: Ian, Bill's mate, who is socially inept and desperate for a girlfriend; Birgitta, the lively German holiday rep (whose English is very good); Dan, a travel writer, fellow football fanatic and very close friend of Monica; and, finally, the adored Gary Lineker drops in. Through 90 minutes, extra time and the infamous penalty shoot-out, the field of battle switches between the hotel room and the Italian football pitch, as the friends and the England team approach the inevitable. If this sounds like you and you like the idea of treading the boards, auditions will be held next Tuesday at March Town Hall Arts Centre (8pm).The company is also on the look-out for a stage manager, props and costumes manager, prompt and front of house staffFor more information, e-mail one-night-theatre@ hotmail.co.uk or visit www.theonenightonlytheatrecompany.co.uk .
