A MAN made off with a handful of cash which he caught after a gust of wind sent hundreds of pounds fluttering through the air.

The lure of easy money proved too big a temptation to the man who police say was standing outside the Cross Keys public house on Market Hill, Chatteris, on Wednesday afternoon when the cash blew past.

The money was part of a large quantity of cash from a local surgery which was being delivered to a bank.

"During the incident a gust of wind blew some of the money towards a man who was standing outside the pub," said Pc Brian Dilloway.

He says he particularly wants to hear from witnesses, particularly a woman seen in the area with two children and a dog.
