THIEVES stole eight tonnes of second hand clothing after breaking into a compound in Whittlesey on Friday.
Offenders painted over the CCTV cameras after breaking into the compound in Kings Dyke. The clothes were taken from a container some time between 12.20am and 12.40am.
DC Mikala Chambers, investigating, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area between these times.
“We are particularly interested in any sightings of a van in the area or if anyone has been offered a large quantity of used clothing for sale.”
Anyone with information should contact DC Chambers at Wisbech Police Station on 0345 456 456 4 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
