VANS were targeted in a series of thefts which took place in Sutton overnight between Monday and Tuesday.

Officers were called to three separate incidents in the village in which vans parked up outside houses had been broken into and items taken.

The rear doors of a vehicle were forced open and tools taken in Brookside, two men were disturbed smashing the rear windscreen of a vehicle in Bellairs and another rear window was smashed on a van in Saffron Close, though it is unclear whether any items were stolen in the latter incident.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: “We would like to speak to two white men, one thick set wearing greyish top with a cap – the other slimmer, wearing tracksuit bottoms tucked into socks, who were acting suspiciously in the area of Bellairs at just before midnight

“We have upped patrols in the area but would also urge people not to leave tools in vans overnight and to keep vehicles in garages if possible.”
