THOMAS Clarkson Academy’s new theatre was officially opened at a ceremony on Saturday.
Mayor of Wisbech, Councillor Vivien MacRae unveiled a plaque to mark the occasion while members of the Royal Air Force Swing Wing Band played a specially-written fanfare.
Visitors enjoyed performances by Thomas Clarkson student Joshua Betts on the saxophone and Jone Lipnickaite, who sang and was accompanied by teacher Inigo Rodriguez on the guitar.
Thomas Clarkson Academy principal Clare Claxton said: “It was a fantastic evening and we were very proud to welcome all of our visitors to the theatre.”
The theatre, which was completed in October last year, has bleacher seating and a portable stage.
