A 14 year-old from a Fenland academy won an essay competition held to mark a society’s 75th anniversary.
Wisbech Society asked students from Wisbech Grammar School and Thomas Clarkson Academy to write an essay of between 800 and 1,000 words on “how life in Wisbech has changed since 1939”.
The winner was Thomas Clarkson Academy student Molly-Mae Taylor, who impressed judges with her level of research.
The gifted writer, who hopes one day to become an English teacher, was presented with her £75 cash prize by society trustees when they visited the academy.
