THOUSANDS of pounds worth of cigarettes were stolen from a Chatteris store.

Burglars broke into the Nisa store, in Park Street, between 7-7.15am on Saturday January 21.

They entered via the back door, went behind the counter and stole a number of packets of cigarettes.

Lesley York, civilian investigator, said: “The offenders stole thousands of pounds worth of cigarettes and headed towards Station Road with a large white bag.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time to call police.”

Anyone with any information should call Lesley York on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
