One of Three Counties Running Club (TCRC)’s newest members took on the hottest London Marathon on record at the weekend.
Among the 41,000 runners taking part on Sunday (April 22) - which saw temperatures rise to 24 degrees - was TCRC newbie Phil Newton
Running in his first full marathon, Phil took on the challenge to raise money and awareness for The World Horse Welfare Charity.
Phil was looking to run a sub four hour but realised with the heat he needed to listen to his body and adjust his pace. Phil finished in an impressive time of 4:14:30 PB.
In other sporting activities TCRC member Arthur Sargeant travelled to Great Yarmouth to take part in his first ever triathlon sprint in the East Coast Triathlon event.
Arthur was very happy after completing the 250m swim, 16k cycle and 3k run in a time of 1:04:24PB.
