A TIMETABLE has been drawn up for a radical shake-up of policing in the region.

April 2008 has been confirmed as the date when East Anglia's three police forces will merge to form one super-force. And a new chief constable is due to be in place in just a year's time.

Appointments to the new police authority should be made by December this year, with the new combined police authority up and running by the end of the year.

Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire police authorities have been told to agree on a name for the new super-force and the new authority by October.
