YOU may be interested to know that a lady in a wheelchair buggy reported to me at the band concert on Sunday in West End Park, March, that she was concerned about the amount of broken glass on the riverside pathway near Marylebone Bridge.

I went over to investigate and it was obvious from the amount of bottles and cans scattered around that illicit drinking on a fairly large scale had taken place over the weekend.

When I got home I phoned the Police to see if I could speak to someone in charge at March to let them know but was answered by someone at force HQ at Huntingdon who wanted to take me through a bureaucratic rigmarole which I abandoned.

I have subsequently reported it via the Cambs Police website(which also needs some determination and perseverance) and suggested that the officer in charge at March should take some action to stop this sort of thing happening in the park(which I think is supposed to be an exclusion zone).
