Cats from all over the country travelled to the Fens for the sixth championship held by the Exotic Shorthair Cat Society.

Organisers were delighted at the standard of the 100 entries which came from as far afield as Wales, York, Kent, Essex and Shropshire.

There was a steady stream of visitors to the event, at the Queen Mary Centre, Wisbech, which had a section for household pets which proved popular as well as those for pedigrees.

An added attraction were the exhibition cats in decorated pens.

Stuart McEwen and wife Barbara, from West Walton, are the show's main organisers.

Mr McEwen is chairman of the Exotic Shorthair Cat Society and show manager. Mrs McEwen is society secretary and assistant show manager.

As well as being the sixths championship show, it was the society's 12th show in Wisbech "Entries were slightly up on last year and we are becoming a popular show," said Mrs McEwen.
