Based at 44 Dartford Road, March and 42 High Street, Chatteris, the family-run business has more than 30 years experience serving the public within healthcare and attracts over 1,000 new patients per year.

Boasting a highly qualified team of staff who are fully trained and provide a consistent, professional experience, 92 per cent of their patients come from recommendations.

Bill Kalsi’s son Maninder, better known as Min, is also onboard as a Dispensing Optician and qualified Optometrist, the 28-year-old is Selby & Taylor’s Managing Director and as Bill says, “he knows everything about glasses and lenses”, having worked in practices for seven years.

One of Selby & Taylor’s main selling points is that they will go out to test people who are housebound at their home, rather than having to organise travel to the opticians. Two weeks on from collecting glasses, Selby & Taylor Opticians will call people to check on them and every three months offer a service check free-of-charge for every patient. Selby & Taylor Opticians also offer a free hearing test for every patient.

Additionally, they are the only Opticians in the local area who can carry out Colorimetry Assessments – the next closest is about 25 miles away.

If you suffer from dyslexia, migraines, headaches, moving or jumping letters or tired eyes when reading, you may benefit from this advanced test – which usually costs £45 but is being offered free for children throughout May half-term.

As an added bonus, parents will receive a free sight test when their child takes the colorimetry assessment (Selby & Taylor are at the top of the British Dyslexia Association website).

Furthermore, Selby & Taylor is the only contracted community practice that provide diabetic eye screening on behalf of the NHS.

Other offers include: UV protected sunglasses for children under £20, 50 per cent off when a second pair of glasses are purchased and designer frames from £99.

Selby & Taylor Opticians, as a gesture of loyalty, offer an I-Points scheme as a way of saying thank-you to their customers: “the more I-Points you collect, the more rewards you unlock”.

The I-Points then turn into prizes from local businesses, for example a Free three course meal or Gift experience day at no additional cost.
