YOUR correspondent JB whoever he or she may be, seems to have missed the main point of my letter about the 33 bus service. My point was that the added twenty minutes to an already lengthy journey (if one is travelling to Peterborough) came about as the result of the abrupt cancellation of the town bus when Stagecoach took over Cavalier.

I seem to recall there was uproar at the time (rightly in my view) orchestrated by the residents of Fleming Court and supported by our County Councillors. As the result, although the town bus wasn’t restored, a compromise was cobbled together which presumably suited the residents, but didn’t take account of those who wish to travel direct to Peterborough rather than have a tour of the town before setting off on the main purpose of their journey.

Wisbech has a perfectly good half hourly town bus service operated by Norfolk Green, why not March?

Is it because the so called capital of the Fens gets preferential treatment or their councillors shout louder than ours?

Incidentally, I happen to think that people who are not prepared to have their names published shouldn’t write to local papers - I’m happy to have responses (in fact I welcome them) but I would rather know who I’m debating with.
