Traveller Tommy Savage has put in retrospective planning consent for three caravans and day rooms which have been in use for more than five years.
The issue came to a head last year during an enforcement dispute which led, eventually, to a code of conduct hearing involving both parish and district councillors.
Now Mr Savage hopes to lay the issue to rest by gaining approval for the caravans at The Old Dairy Yard off Westfield Road, Manea. He says the site is surrounded by Leylandii trees on three sides; the site is in a low risk flood area and has, for 20 years, been a builder’s yard.
He says he lives with his wife in one of the caravans and the others are used by his daughters and their families.
His application is now before Fenland planners.
