Slimmers who gained pounds at Christmas have donated the pounds - in cash this time - to the children's charity NSPCC.Members of Weight Watchers Clubs in Chatteris and March gave £140 for children's benefit.Kathy Bateman, who runs the clubs, said: "To encourage people to watch what they eat over the festive season I always 'fine' people who gain weight after Christmas. It's not really a fine, it's a voluntary donation which we give to charity, but everyone really got into the swing of it this year and even people who lost weight at Christmas contributed cash for the NSPCC."Kathy said: "The average person puts on half-a-stone over Christmas whereas the average weight gain in my classes was only two pounds."The Chatteris class meets at the Conservative Club at 10.30am and 6.30pm on Wednesdays and March classes are held at Mill View Scout Hall on Mondays at 5pm and 6.15pm and at 10am on Tuesdays.
