A GROUP of 38 people made up of members of March Twinning Association and March and District Amateur Operatic Society travelled to St Jean-de-Braye, March's twin town in France, for a five-day trip.

During the visit the group, with their hosts, attended a buffet evening and presented the town with the gift of a mounted model of a traditional Fenland narrow boat.

The next evening the operatic group presented a show of music from the 1960s, and on the third day the English guests were taken out for the day, visiting the chateau where Leonardo da Vinci spent his last years, and seeing exhibits of his art and writing and models of his designs. After a three course lunch prepared and served by students at a nearby college, the afternoon was spent in the town of Amboise.

The sssociation in St Jean-de-Braye hopes to visit March next year.
