A CHATTERIS college has been visited by Teachers TV after winning a competition which searched out the best of what is happening in schools across the country.

Cromwell Community College won the contest entitled “Sharing Your Great Practice”, for its “brave and inspired” methods of teaching the history curriculum.

Teachers TV, which provides video and support materials for schools across the UK, filmed Head of history Hannah Dalton discussing The Reformation with her class of year sevens.

This complex historical topic was studied by means of comparative history, encouraging students to enjoy an “active, argumentative and judgemental classroom atmosphere.”

The Teachers TV judges had wanted to see evidence of an innovative approach to the subject. The video will be available to watch on their website www.teachers.tv
