FIREFIGHTERS enlisted the help of a Fenland farmer’s tractor to rescue a cow which had got stuck in the mud on a river bank.
Two fire crews and a rescue vehicle were called to the incident, which happened in Bevis Lane, Wisbech St Mary, in the early hours of yesterday.
Firefighters used animal rescue equipment and the farmer’s tractor to free the cow, which had become stuck on the river bank.
The cow was attended to by a vet at the scene.
