A road traffic collision in Gorefield was one of five 999 calls crews responded to during yesterday’s Fire Brigades Union strike.

Members of the FBU went on strike for nine hours from 10am until 7pm, during which fire engines in Cambridgeshire were crewed by on-call firefighters, operational managers and senior staff from across the service.

At about 1pm two resilience crews were called to a road traffic collision on Gore Dyke Bank in Gorefield, which involved two vehicles.

Two casualties were assisted from their vehicles.

Other incidents attended were a road traffic collision in Stilton, a car fire on the A47 Soke Parkway in Peterborough, a fire in Peterborough and a fire in North Bretton.
