TWO scouts in March have been given the highest possible award for a cub after the pair completed a series of challenges.
Amey Wilson and Alex Redhead, of 1st March Cubs, learnt about the work of Oxfam and water sanitation and fire safety on a visit to March Fire Station where they sprayed water with hoses. The pair had to earn creative, community, fitness, global, outdoor and promise challenge badges to complete the Silver award.
Alex chose to study Winston Churchill as a person who had done their best for the promise badge with Amey choosing children’s author and illustrator Steve Smallman.
They both took part in a Cub Challenge day at St Ives where they tried rock climbing, canoeing, archery and fire lighting to get their outdoor badges.
