Two vehicles are thought to be involved in a pile up on the A142 near the Mepal turn this afternoon.
Police and emergency services are the scene and the road has been reduced to single file while casualties are attended.
It is not known the extent of any injuries - a motorist at the scene said the driver of at least one of those cars involved was being cut free by rescue workers.
Police are advising people if possible to stay clear of the area until the vehicles have been removed from the road.
