TWO women had a lucky escape today when their car left the road and did a 180 degree turn before coming to rest alongside a ditch.

Magpas team members Dr Ali Tompkins and volunteer paramedic Dave Mee raced to Ramsey Mereside near Benwick at 12.26pm in their rapid response BMW in response to an emergency call.

A Magpas spokesman said: “Two women (both young adults) were in the car. The Helimedix team worked alongside a Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Crew and an EEAST Ambulance Crew, to get the patients out of the car.

“The Magpas team then assessed the two women, they found no injuries and subsequently discharged them from the scene.”

Dr Tompkins said: “We are happy that these two people will make a full recovery”.
