Two women were taken to hospital with serious injuries following a two vehicle collision near Manea.
The crash happened at Boot’s Bridge at the junction to Manea on Sixteen Foot Bank at about 10am on Sunday.
The road was closed for around two hours as Cambridgeshire County Council highways team cleared up a diesel spillage.
At 11.15am a Magpas Helimedix team of Dr David Driver, Dr Lorraine Greasley and paramedic Simon Standen at the scene via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance to deal with what they said was a “severe road traffic collision.”
A woman in her 60’s suffered leg injuries and a woman in her 20’s suffered facial injuries.
The Magpas team assessed both patients and administered enhanced pain relief, whilst working alongside two EEAST Ambulance Crews at the scene.
The woman with leg injuries was taken to Peterborough City Hospital in land ambulance, where on arrival she was in a serious but stable condition.
The second woman with facial injuries was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a land ambulance, where on arrival she was also in a serious but stable condition.
The cars involved were a Kia and a Citroen.
The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was pilot Richard Eastwood and crew member Steve Hunwicks.
