Tydd St Mary Playing field held the annual gala on the playing field on Sunday from 11am-4pm. The many attractions included various stalls and side-shows and a display of classic cars, stock and kit cars. In the main arena there was entertainment from Kirton Brass Band who did two performances during the day and the children loved Rollo The Clown. There was a barbecue and the bar all day was run by The Five Bells. There was a fancy dress competition won by Shaun Ely in the pre school age group and Bryony Upson won the older class as A Zombies Bride. There was also the usual balloon race with a prize of £25 for the balloon that travels the furthest. The first prize in the raffle was a bike won by Dean c/o Peter Briggs. There was also the usual visit from Long Sutton Fire Brigade who hosed all the children and possibly some adults at the end of the day. The committee would like to thank everyone who helped in any way, to make the day so successful. On August 26 there will be a music festival again on the playing field following the success of last years event. Any bands who would like to come along please contact Andrea Groves on 01945 420559.
