UNEMPLOYMENT has fallen to its lowest level in Fenland for six months.
Figures released on Wednesday (July 14) by the Office of National Statistics reveal that 2,377 people in the North East Cambs population are out work - 3.5 per cent of the population.
That is down from May this year when 2,517 people, or 3.7 per cent, were jobless.
The number has been steadily been coming down since February 2010, when 4.2 per cent of Fenland’s population was out of work.
Nationally unemployment has fallen to 2.47 million as economic experts say the UK labour market has stablised.
