WORD reaches Brakespeare's ears that defeated Manea candidate Robert Sears may have his ungentlemanly behaviour to blame for at least one lost vote.
For it seems that, although appreciated, his offer to give lifts to the polling station last Thursday didn't conclude altogether satisfactorily.
One pensioner tells me she waited, and waited, for Mr Sears to open the door for her before alighting the car to cast her vote.
The fact she had to open the door for herself may, I emphasis may, have persuaded her to make an altogether different choice!
