A MAN has been arrested today in connection with the robbery in Chatteris which left a chip shop manager with horrific facial injuries.

The robbery took place at about 9.15pm on Saturday in London Road as the victim was delivering money to chippy Mark Petrou. He was struck with an object by the robber who stole a bag containing the money.

A police spokesman said: “Police arrested a 23-year-old man from Chatteris at an address in Delve Terrace, Chatteris, at about 8.10am today.

“He has been taken to Huntingdon Police Station.”
