Police confirm they have identified the body of a man discovered in the River Ouse at Downham Market on Monday (31 August).
Identification comes after a member of the public contacted police today (September 2) having seeing media reports about the incident.
Enquiries have confirmed the body, found in the water close to Hythe Bridge, is that of a local 79-year-old man. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared in due course for HM Coroner.
