UPDATE: Man, 46, arrested after woman is injured in hit-and-run Wisbech Market Place crash

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a hit-and-run crash in Wisbech Market Place this morning.

An elderly woman was knocked down shortly before 11am as she walked on the pavement in High Street, near Shoe Zone.

She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn but her injuries are not thought to be serious.

A 46-year-old man from Wisbech was arrested this afternoon on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Matthew Smart on 101.
