A 46-YEAR-old woman who died after her car left the A142 and entered a ditch near Witchford on Saturday has been identified
Louise Bristow, 46, a taxi driver for Ely firm A10 Taxis, was found slumped in the footwell of her car after it careered into a roadside ditch.
Motorists using the A142 shortly after midnight spotted her silver Vauxhall Vivaro in a ditch at the side the road, about 200 yards along from the roundabout, and police and ambulance crews were called.
Insp Terry Furlong, of Cambridgeshire police, said officers immediately carried out CPR and the mum-of-three, from Red Lodge, near Newmarket, was rushed to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. She failed to recover from her injuries however, and died on Sunday.
Anyone with any information about the incident should call the Roads Policing Unit on 101.
