POLICE are today trying to trace the family of a farm worker who died after he was in a collision with a car on Friday night.

The man, who was in his 50s and has not yet been named, was in a collision with a Land Rover at Three Holes, on A1101 between Wisbech and Welney.

The crash happened outside the village hall, on the junction of the main road and Squires Drove.

Today a police spokesman said the man was a Lithuanian national and efforts were now being made to trace next of kin, via the Lithuanian Embassy.

Diversions were in place for around four hours while emergency services attended the scene of the crash, which happened at around 6.40pm on Friday.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who believes that they may have seen a green Land Rover being driven in the area prior to the collision, or a man walking in the area.

The male driver of the Land Rover, who is in his 40s, has been helping police officers with their investigation.

Witnesses are asked to contact Sgt Peter Howlett at Swaffham Roads Policing on 101
